This NVR is capable of recording smooth 4K video on all channels (8MP security cameras required). 4K resolution (3840 2160 pixels), compared to 1080p resolution (1920 × 1080), will provide you with a whole new level of detail and clarity in your security footage.

Continuous, scheduled, and motion recording options

Record security footage in three different ways with this NVR. First, you can record footage continuously. This provides the maximum amount of coverage, but also uses the most hard drive space. Second, you can record only during scheduled times, such as while you are away at work or during the night. Third, you can set this NVR to record only when movement is detected. It is important to know that this NVR uses a pre-recording function that will go back to record the five seconds before the motion is detected, ensuring that you never miss those first few vital moments. These recording modes can be customized with each camera as well, which means that you can program higher activity cameras to record all of the time while lower activity cameras can be set up to record only on motion events or during the night.

Up to 40% More Storage Capacity

This NVR's HEVC (High Efficiency Video Encoding) or H.265 video compression feature will save you hard drive space and improve network efficiency. In fact, in can save you up to 40% more space when compared to H.264 Advanced Video Coding. This is especially important for 4K resolution security monitoring. It will compress files, with virtually no video degradation, but at a fraction of the original file size. So it will allow you to keep the 4K resolution footage without the 4K file sizes. Automatic hard drive overwrite

This NVR is programmed to automatically overwrite the oldest footage on the hard drive as the newest footage comes in. This means that you will never have to manually delete files to make room for the newest footage.

Ready for the future

This NVR supports Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6), the next generation of the IP address standard. Essentially, every computer or device connected to the internet has a specific IP (Internet Protocol) address. It is through these unique addresses that devices can communicate to each other. Since the inception of the internet, these addresses have been using a standard system called IPv4 (Internet Protocol version 4). These addresses, however, have been depleted since it only supports 4.3 billion addresses. IPv6, compared to IPv4, will support 340 trillion, trillion, trillion IP addresses! Eventually, IPv6 will replace IPv4 altogether, but you won't have to worry as your NVR has been engineered to support both types of IP addresses. This NVR also supports other important internet protocols, including HTTP, TCP/IP, UPNP, RTSP, UDP, SMTP, NTP, DHCP, DNS, PPPOE, DDNS, and FTP.

Power failure auto-recovery

An auto-recovery function will automatically reboot the NVR if there is a power outage. This means that you don't have to do a thing - it will simply start recording again within minutes of regaining power. It also includes a Watch Dog feature that is continuously monitoring the system for potential system errors. If Watch Dog ever detects a critical error, it will automatically restart the NVR and start recording again. This helps ensure system stability, keeps your cameras recording, and prevents future system failures.
